The overview of wine enthusiasts is changing: the reduction in procapita annual wine consumption goes hand-in-hand with the tendency to drink and enjoy better wine. For this reason, the winemaking sector has begun to create the type of wines that appeal to the market, and is no longer detached from the winegrowing sector. It has changed from “corrective” winemaking to “promotional winemaking” in which all production-related activities interact synergically.

The improvement of wine production must therefore necessarily involve an improvement in the vineyards: to express the very best of the local area, winegrowers must know how to combine the principles of tradition with the discoveries of modern winegrowing and winemaking research.
