Today five people work on the estate, while Graziella Ferrari is the marketing manager based in her Milan office.

This is an exciting challenge because, as Graziella says: “There’s a huge difference between selling wine and selling any other product. Wine is a living product that people can talk about and what counts, in the long term, is quality alone.” This is why Attilio Longo is so exacting: only the best is good enough.

It is no coincidence therefore that Montiverdi was one of those estates courageous enough not to bottle a single litre of the miserable 1992 vintage. The whole of that year’s production was thrown away.

“At Montiverdi, we bottle the wine when it is ready, not when the market demands it,” sums up Graziella Ferrari.
